Hockney Set to Make a World Record at Auction

‘Portrait of an Artist’, one of David Hockney’s best-known works, is to be auctioned at Christie’s next November. If its estimate of US$80 million is achieved, the Hockney work will knock Jeff Koons’ 'Balloon Dog (Orange)' off the podium as the most expensive artwork by a living artist.

World record for Asian arts at Auctionata

Least weekend a new world record was set at the online-based auction house Auctionata at their 'Important Asian Art' sale. The auction featured a rare asian clock which broke world records for an item sold online, a new price record for Germany in 2015 and in Auctionata's history of online auctions.

Fontana tops Sotheby's record auction in London!

There were surely hopes, and even indications, that it would go the right way. But even so, you could probable hear a sigh of relief from Peder Isacsson, the CEO of Sotheby's in Scandinivia, when Fontana's masterpiece, "Concetto Spaziale, Attese" from the Swedish collection, was sold for just under 13 million USD, including commission. During the exciting auction, art was sold for a total of nearly 180 million USD.
