Last Thursday, a 23-year-old man was arrested in his Berlin-Treptow apartment by 24 Dresden police officers. He is accused of serious gang theft and arson in connection with the jewelry heist in the historic Green Vault in Dresden in November 2019.

As announced by the Saxony police and prosecutor's office, the 23-year-old is the sixth person suspected of having been directly involved in the incidents at the time.

The first three suspects were arrested in November 2020. Two more arrests followed in December and May of this year. There is still no trace of the stolen jewels, most of which date back to the 18th century and are worth an estimated total of over $1 billion.
