The attic of the Acapulco Hotel has become a bright loft with an orangery and terrace. Here, Scandinavian classics, flea-market finds and colorful textiles combine to create an inviting home. The owners of this warm abode are Eva and Lars, let’s take a peek into the couple's new home.

From the entrance, you enter the orangery next to the terrace. During warmer months, both the room and terrace are filled with plants and flowers. In the orangery, there is an old linen closet purchased from a farmhouse in Dalarna, a county in the middle of Sweden, for around £45 in the early 1980s. The Hans J. Wegner ’Folding Chair’, designed in 1949, was purchased at an auction.
A playful lamp designed by Ingo Maurer greets you as you walk up the stairs into the apartment. Industrial doors in black and grey metal cabinets break up an otherwise white environment. In the hall is an Italian suite of furniture purchased at the Swedish auction house Bukowskis.

Paintings by Scandinavian artists Isaac Grünewald, Carl Larsson, Georg Stoopendaal, Pierre Olofsson and Jerk Werkmäster hang in the home. The graphic artist and designer Jerk Werkmäster, who was the artistic director of Nittsjö ceramics between 1933-67, is one of Eva and Lars’ most beloved artists and his work can be seen in several places in the apartment. A striped vessel by Werkmäster features on the bench in the hall.
The hall, living room and kitchen are all open plan and flow into one another. Danish chairs by Wegner and a coffee table with a yellow disc top from the Danish shop Beau Marché work wonderfully together in this space.

In several places throughout the apartment, Eva and Lars have built up small collections playing on different themes, which have been acquired over several years from flea markets.
In the living room is a contemporary sofa by Arne Norell as well as a 1920s sofa, which once belonged to Eva's grandfather. The ‘Nomad’ lamps were designed by Niclas Hoflin, and the carpet is Indian and comes from Shyam Ahuja.
Against the white walls, yellow, red and orange tones spread throughout the living room in the form of colorful pillows.
Around the table are eight chairs produced by Norman Cherner, designed in 1957. On the table is a collection of vases, while the shelves are adorned with mugs in the same tones as the yellow and orange living space.
In the guest room, which also serves as an office space, are teak chairs and mirrors, as well as pieces from Lars' childhood home, including a brown leather chair by Arne Jacobsen from 1955 and another rug by Eski Kilim.

In the bright bedroom, vintage linen cabinets, bedside tables and desks are accompanied by the modern ’Tom Vac’ chair by Ron Arad from 1999, while the ‘Tolomeo’ lamp from Artemide sits next to the bed.
In the interior of the old hotel attic, Eva and Lars have created a harmonious, sustainable home that makes use of family pieces and vintage finds.
