Dior (1945-)

Dior was founded in 1946 by Christian Dior and is today one of the world's best-known companies. Initially the fashion house only produced clothing, but in 1950 production was expanded to include handbags, hats, gloves, shoes, jewelry and other accessories. Its first collection, “The New Look,” and the perfume “Miss Dior” were both introduced in 1947 and garnered huge attention. The clothing collection consisted of narrow waists and tight tops with pleated skirts. Later the fashion house launched the well-known “A- line” with wide skirts.
