The New Hampshire-based auction house Eaton & Brennan Auctions is the latest addition to the auction block. Founded by industry experts Tricia Eaton and John Brennan, both have years of experience within the auction industry and, more precisely, autographs and handwritten material.
Their inaugural auction just began and will be completed on the 9th of November. The auction, which is themed on modern music, features 226 spectacular lots. The highlights include band-signed guitars by The Rolling Stones, Guns N’ Roses, and Cream. Other spectacular items are a fully signed CD copy of Nirvana’s Nevermind and iconic albums signed by all-time greats such as Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, and Michael Jackson.

We had the pleasure of meeting with Tricia Eaton, one of the two co-founders, who explained that the idea is to begin with six auctions per year and then explore the possibility of expanding it further.
Eaton & Brennan Auctions is described by the co-founders as a “boutique” auction experience with a focus on fine details, curating special items, and ensuring that they only offer authentic material of the finest quality. Tricia has many years of experience working at RR Auction, which is run by her family, and Iconic Auctions, where she and John Brennan established a music department.
Tricia explained, “Having been in the auction world nearly all my life, opening up my own auction house felt like a natural progression. When John and I met in 2018, we bonded over the love of collecting, and each brought something special to the table: me with auction know-how and John with his collector’s viewpoint and immense knowledge. Leading an auction house has been a dream of mine for a long time, and I’m blessed to be able to achieve that dream with John and my sister, Amanda, as CFO.”
“We also appreciate the personal touch as so many auction houses are corporate and impersonal,” she says and continues: “We’re hoping to put a little personalization back into the auction world. And we are passionate about authenticity, anyone who knows John and me understands how much the genuineness of autographs and memorabilia means to us – if we choose to include an item in our auction, you can be sure it’s the real deal”.

It’s clear that Eaton & Brennan Auctions truly value authenticity. The majority of all the items that they offer for sale are accompanied by letters of authenticity from leading third-party authenticators. For items without existing certification, they guarantee that the items will pass as authentic.

John Brennan is famous within the industry as one of the greatest autograph hunters in the world. The amount of autographs that he has collected in person is unmatched. It’s not only about the quantity, but rather the quality. He has fond memories of meeting Mick Jagger and other members of The Rolling Stones multiple times. John recalls one special moment late at night when Jagger tried to catch a cab home. He didn’t get any attention from any cab driver, so John asked him if he wanted a ride – and Jagger said yes.
After meeting endless top celebrities, we asked John who his pick would be if he could ask for someone’s autograph today. “A toss-up between Axl Rose, David Gilmour, and Stevie Nicks”, he said.
