Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills just published their November 16-18 music memorabilia auction – and they did not disappoint. With more than 1,000 lots in total, the auction has something for everyone, including an extensive collection of personally owned items by Dee Dee Ramone and Frank Zappa.
As always with Julien's, there are a couple of items that simply make people lose their breath. How about Eric Clapton's 1964 Gibson SG with psychedelic finish, stage-used in the 60s with Cream? If that isn't enough, they also offer Kurt Cobain's iconic 1993 turquoise Fender Mustang. Both the Clapton and the Cobain guitars are expected to sell for $2 million each. Another notable stage-used item is a black military-inspired jacket with gold hardware embellishment that "The King of Pop" Michael Jackson wore during his 1992-1993 "Dangerous Tour". It's a striking jacket that was made by designer duo Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush, who worked with Jackson throughout the second part of his career.

Earlier in October, Barnebys reported about John Lennon's long-lost Patek Philippe Ref. 2499. This auction gives bidders the opportunity to purchase a remarkable John Lennon-owned item, which he got as a gift from none other than Elton John. The Wurlitzer jukebox was, in fact, a Christmas gift that Lennon received from Elton John. Notably, Lennon's last live performance was in 1974 when he joined Elton John on stage by singing "Whatever Gets You Thru the Night", as well as part of The Beatles' classic "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds".

In 2020, Kurt Cobain's acoustic Martin D-18E guitar sold in excess of $6 million. The remarkable detail of that guitar was that it was played by Cobain while filming the classic television series MTV Unplugged. The episode with Nirvana aired in 1993 and is considered one of the most iconic music performances of all time.
