On a cliffside plot in the breathtaking port of Nice is ‘Château de l'Anglais’, a luxurious Belle Époque house once owned by Scottish actor Sean Connery.

Connery, best known for his portrayal of Agent 007, stayed there with his wife Micheline Roquebrune, a painter from the region whom he met in the 1970s. As the actor approaches his 90th birthday, the couple have shared a peaceful retirement together.

The house itself is set on a hillside over six floors and served by a lift. It offers a breathtaking view of the Baie des Anges and the port of Nice.

Though the house has since changed hands to a new owner, in the neighbourhood it is commonly known as ‘the house of Sean Connery.’

Among its luxury fit-out, amenities include an indoor infinity pool, a landscaped garden (replete with another swimming pool, because you can never have too many), a spa, gym, kitchen, suites and guest villas.

The property is being offered for $34 million) through the agency Knight Frank Cap Ferrat.
