Once again, the online auction house Catawiki is currently hosting their "Exclusive Selection" auction through December 30. The offer includes exciting, beautiful and rare objects from different categories, including paintings, design, antiques, memorabilia and pop art.
Here are six special objects not to miss:

Figures in the form of exotic dancers, ancient warriors or athletic young women are among the most emblematic creations of the Art Deco period. Artists such as Demétre Chiparus and Ferdinand Preiss should be mentioned here, as well as their colleague Marcel Bouraine, who is represented at Catawiki with his 60 cm high Fan Dancer, a bronze figurine with a gold and silver patina and mounted on a placed Belgian marble base. The work was carried out in the Paris foundry by Edmond Etling, with whom Bouraine repeatedly collaborated.

With a height of 182 cm, these Japanese sculptures belong to the more monumental category. They are a pair of important and extremely rare lacquered wood Lokapala temple guardians from the early Edo Period (1600-1868) in Japan.

One of the enchanting items is both decorative, useful and entertaining. It is a music box from the first half of the 19th century, shaped like a harpsichord and made of mahogany. If you flip up the lid, however, no strings appear, rather a sewing set.

The large dining table by designer Hanns-Rudolf von Wild, appropriately named Fried Egg, is also highly decorative. The table was designed in 1976 and is inspired by Pop Art. The example offered by Catawiki was made after 2000 and is in excellent condition.

The excellent condition of this 35 x 50 cm oil painting by Paul Baudry must also be pointed out; evidently the Swiss private collection to which it belonged took good care of it. Paul Baudry was a French painter who usually painted in a classical style influenced by the Italian Renaissance. For the present work Venus and Cupid, however, he clearly was inspired - perhaps at the request of a client – by the master of rococo painting, François Boucher. The painting is hand-signed and will be delivered to the lucky bidder with a certificate of authenticity.

Works of art are offered directly from their creators in a separate auction. In the present case, it is the Lüpertz master student Birgit Klerch, who lives and works in Hamburg. Klerch's art is characterized by a balancing act between reality and alienation. One of her themes is dedicated to the festivals of today, where (young) people move in a kind of parallel world and dress in their own way. Dockville - XXL was created in 2018 as part of the music and art festival of the same name in Hamburg.
Bids can be placed on all lots in the “Exclusive Selection” auctions until December 30th.
