Classic Week at Vienna's Dorotheum concluded with an auction of 19th-century paintings. Austrian artists such as Tina Blau, Anton Romanko, and the Italian painter of Austrian descent, Eugen von Blaas, were particularly popular.

Two works by Theodor von Hörmann and Robert Russ each set a new record price for their creators. Russ's Italian Pergola fetched €195,000 ($208,257,) while Hörmann's Ice Floes on the Thaya River brought in €390,000 ($416,500).

The evening before saw the auction of Old Masters, where three female Old Masters enjoyed outstanding results. Louyse Moillon's Fruit Seller achieved €260,000 ($278,000), and Sofonisba Anguissola's Portrait of a Noblewoman sold for €169,000 ($180,000). Barbara Longhi's Saint Justina of Padua saw a remarkable increase, soaring from an estimate of €8,000-€10,000 to €91,000 ($97,000)

A spirited bidding war erupted over a painting by an artist closely associated with Sandro Botticelli, Madonna with Child and St. John the Baptist. A telephone bidder ultimately won, acquiring the painting for €663,875 ($709,000). The piece from the late 15th century had been estimated at €200,000-€300,000.

The highest price of the entire Classic Week went for Francisco de Goya's portrait study of the Infanta María Isabel. The work served as a reference for his famous group portrait of the Carlos IV family. Originally estimated at €300,000-€400,000 it changed hands for an impressive €712,500 ($760,900).
