First Wilson Jack Kramer Pro Staff wooden tennis racket used by John McEnroe during the 1977–1978 seasons, manufactured in the United States, with a 4 5/8" handle. This racket comes from the personal collection of Michel Mattei, director, screenwriter and producer of the documentaries *The Rites of Passage: The John McEnroe Story* (1981) and *The Pat Cash Story: No Second Prize* (1987). A tennis enthusiast, over the course of several decades he has built up an exceptional collection of over 1,500 rackets, thanks to his close ties with many legends of the sport, notably John McEnroe and Pat Cash.
