All auctions / Furniture, Design & Mirrors / Frame - Wood

Italian early 1900s cornice with baroque taste, featuring an outer edge adorned with volutes and foliate relief motifs. The wider golden band balances the richness of the ornament and guides the eye toward the inner profile, also ornamented. The wooden construction with preparation and, where present, plaster ornaments is documented by the photographs of the front and details. Empty as offered, the frame can be paired with a new artwork compatible with its opening. Era: Early 20th century. Country of origin: Italy. Materials: wood and plaster, gold finish. External dimensions: about 60 × 50 cm, height × width. Internal opening: about 50 × 40 cm, height × width. Sold empty, without painting, glass or mirror. Good overall condition, with patina, small abrasions and traces of finish wear visible in the details. The back retains marks of previous mounting and superficial wear. Dedicated protective packaging, with particular attention to the edges and corners.
