Bronze ring with plain oval bezel – 1st–4th century AD A bronze ring with an elongated oval bezel and broad shoulders tapering towards the back of the hoop. The upper surface is dark and softened by wear, without an identifiable image or inscription. Pale deposits occur on parts of the hoop and shoulders, contrasting with the brown patina. In profile, the metal thickens progressively towards the head, without a clearly visible separate setting. The elongated head gives the front a clear directional emphasis, while the broad shoulders create a stable visual connection to the hoop. The changes in thickness are particularly apparent in the side views. No sharply defined border separates a surviving image from the surrounding surface, and the visual effect is therefore governed by the oval outline and contrasting areas of patina. The pale deposits remain unevenly distributed rather than forming an intentional ornamental treatment.
