Sent in to the appraisal service this summer was a delicate ballpoint drawing by Godfather of Pop Art Andy Warhol. Swann Galleries in Manhattan have consigned the piece for their November Contemporary Art auction. What is particularly significant about this 1956 piece is that it was drawn the same year that New York’s Museum of Modern Art wrote to Warhol rejecting his ‘’Shoe’’ drawing from their collection.
At the end of last year, three stunning pieces of Russian silver were sent in to our Appraisal Service. Spying these were something that could not be missed, they were consigned to Christie's for their Russian Art auction set for summer 2017.
