Valerio Adami (1935-) Italy

Valerio Adami is an Italian artist who studied at the Accademia di Brera in Milan. Adami has worked in London and Paris and his art is influenced by pop art. In the 1950s Adami lived in Paris where he was inspired by Roberto Matta and Wifredo Lam. From 1964, he developed a distinctive style in which large flat areas are surrounded by heavy black outlines. In the 1970s, he focused his creativity on politics, when he combined motifs from European history, philosophy, mythology and literature.
Valerio Adami's work has been shown in Paris, Valencia, Tel Aviv and Buenos Aires.
