Rolex Submariner

Rolex is a designer, manufacturer and distributor of luxury wristwatches. The company was founded in London, England by German watchmaker Hans Wilsdorf and his brother-in-law, Alfred Davis, in 1905. Originally named Wilsdorf and Davis, the company was registered under the trademark Rolex in 1908. Rolex has produced remarkable and innovative timepieces over the last 112 years, including the 'Submariner', which has become one of the most successful diving watches to date. Launched in 1953, the 'Submariner' became the first wristwatch case to be waterproof up to 100 metres. Amongst other notable features were - and still are - the watch's luminous hour-markers and corrosion-resistant alloy case. Today, the 'Submariner' is waterproof up to 300 metres, allowing divers more freedom in their underwater ventures.
