Ragnar Sandberg was a Swedish painter who studied at Valand School of Fine Arts in Gothenburg. He belonged to the Gothenburg Colorists, and his paintings shift between expressive hues and softer pastels. In 1947, Sandberg was appointed professor at the Swedish Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm. He was also active as an author and poet, and participated in contemporary art debates. Sandberg’s work can be seen at Nationalmuseum in Stockholm and at the Gothenburg Museum of Art.
