Peter Tillberg is a Swedish painter, sculptor and graphic artist. He studied at the Royal Institute of Art from 1964 to 1969, where he practiced photorealistic painting and harnessed its potential to be used in public debate. In his work, Tillberg seems to reproduce reality precisely as he sees it. One of his best known paintings is called “Är du lönsam lille vän” (Are You Profitable Little Friend). In the late 1970s, Tillberg developed a major interest in geological motifs. From working primarily with charcoal, he eventually transitioned to a bolder color palette and motifs from Provence.
