Omega is a luxury watchmaker founded in 1848. After being set up in the Swiss city of La Chaux-de-Fonds, the company exported its products throughout Europe, with England becoming its key consumer. Since its founding, Omega has been renowned for its innovation and quality in watchmaking, producing various models with unprecedented horological technology. The Omega 'Speedmaster' - also known as the 'Moon Watch' - was the first watch to be worn on the moon by Buzz Aldrin during the Apollo 11 mission of 1969. Originally launched in 1957, the timepiece underwent vigorous testing by NASA to become one of just a few select watches to be approved by the space program for flight; the 'Speedmaster' maintains this position to date. The watch is a firm favorite of actor George Clooney, who has been spotted wearing various models on and off screen.
