Maja Fjaestad was a Swedish visual artist and handicraft maker from Skåne. As a child, Fjaestad began her studies of art and painting at Richard Bergh’s art school, and then at Konstnärsförbundet’s painting school. Early in her career, Fjaestad primarily worked with portraits and landscapes in oils; however, she is best known for her tapestries and textile work. Fjaestad joined the Rackstad Colony with her husband, Gustaf Fjaestad.
