Hector Guimard (1867-1942) France

Hector Guimard was a French architect and designer during the Art Nouveau style era and created many well-known designs during his time. Guimard drew inspiration from nature and is today well known for his works.
The Art Nouveau style is often colloquially called the "Guimard style" in France due to the great influence Guimard had on it. Guimard is especially famous for the entrance signs in front of the Parisian subway Le Métro, which still adorns the entrances today.
