Frank Stella (1936-) USA

Frank Stella is an American visual artist, painter and sculptor belonging to the minimalism and post-painterly abstraction movement. Stella studied history at Princeton University and had his breakthrough in 1959 with his “Black Paintings” at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Frank Stella’s works are represented at Moderna Museet in Stockholm and he participated in the 2008 Art Biennale in Borås with the sculpture Çatal Hüyük.
