Dwane (1972-) Sweden

Dwane is both a pioneer of Swedish graffiti, as well as one of its foremost representatives. Dwane belonged to the group Vandals in Motion (VIM) along with others such as Nug and Akay. He has been active as a graffiti artist since the 1980s and today has an international career as an artist. Dwane’s work is represented in the book “Spraykonst” (Spray Art) and he also participated in the legendary 1993 exhibition “Konst på burk” (Art in a Can). Dwane is currently reducing the expressions in his graffiti and producing small-scale images instead.. Criticism and questioning are recurring themes in his art.
