Bernt Carlsson (1942-) Sweden

Bernt Carlsson is a Swedish artist born in 1942. Through his art he has challenged contemporary political conditions. Political art became an established art form in the 1960s. Other artists who responded to the world's injustices included Kjartan Slettemark, Channa Bankier and Karin Frostenson. Carlsson’s art was included in the exhibition “The heart is on the left,” a traveling exhibition that began in 1998 at the Gothenburg Museum of Art and ended at the Södertälje Konsthall gallery in 1999.
