Ben Shahn was a lithuanian-american painter and photographer. His photos first figured as models for his expressionist and social realist paintings. Shahn did, among other things, work together with Diego Rivera on the murals of Rockefeller Centre in New York. Shahn studied at New York University, City College of New York and National Academy of Design.
