Artek

Artek is a furniture company from Finnland. Founded by architect and designer Alvar and Aino Aalto in 1935, Artek is known for the desire to combine art and technology. In the beginning the purpose of the company was to produce furnishings for their architecture projects. Since 1976 the company has also been selling products designed by other prominent Finnish designers. A few examples of this is Eero Aarnio, Ilmari Tapiovaara, Yrjö Kukkapuro, Harri Koskinen and Tapio Wirkkala.
