Anna-Lisa Thomson was a Swedish ceramic artist, visual artist and designer born in Karlskrona. She studied at Högre Konstindustriella Skolan, now known as University College of Arts, Crafts & Design, in Stockholm, as well as abroad. For a time she was worked at St. Erik Lervarufabrik, where she designed tea sets and ceramic objects. Thomson also worked at the porcelain factory Gefle Porslinsfabrik and Upsala-Ekeby. Her artistry is characterized by clean shapes and earth tones. Perhaps her best known creation is her “Paprika” stoneware vase.
