Yoshimoto Nara, (1955-) Attributed/Manner of: Figures and Faces. Mixed media on illustration board, signed and dated 2000, framed. From AskArt: Yoshimoto (some spell it Yashitomo) Nara was born in 1959 in Hirosaki, Japan and has exhibited extensively in the United States as well as Japan and European countries. Using a style combining the effect of Japanese prints and Pop Art cartoons, he paints solitary, doll-like children to comment upon the decline of society, East and West. To Nara, children symbolize a world marked by confusion and anxiety about an unknown future. 19.5 x 15.75 inches image; 21 x 17 inches frame. Private collection, North Carolina, USA. Good condition, not examined out of the frame. NOTE: If documentation is not listed, the lot is sold without documents. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions prior to bidding. Color fidelity of photos presented is not guaranteed. Lack of a condition statement does not imply that a lot is perfect. Please examine photos, read descriptions, and contact the Gallery with any questions prior to bidding. All sales are final. Winning bidders will be sent invoices from our gallery. Credit cards are accepted for invoices under $1000. Higher amounts must be paid by e-check or wire transfer. Condition Request Condition Report Good condition, not examined out of the frame.
