The subject, a bear with a green snout, is ironically adorned with a distinctive red nose and eyes, adding a whimsical touch. Wearing a classic tunic, the bear sports a blue and yellow scarf, creatively replacing the iconic pearl earring with a similar sphere. The background sharply contrasts with its dark, textured finish, highlighting the vibrant colors and details of the figure. Yifan Jing, also known as Zorg, is a Chinese visual artist based in London, trained in illustration at Goldsmiths, University of London. His work explores themes of migration, cultural symbolism, and intercultural narratives. Through illustration and spatial construction, Zorg reflects on social structures and psychological states embedded in real-world landscapes. His work examines how images generate meaning in motion, often rooted in marginalized communities and unconventional contexts. By listening, gathering, and recomposing, he creates fluid visual texts that negotiate identity, emotion, and power. For Zorg, images are not merely tools of expression, but visual agreements shaped by social relations.
