About the artist: Yamila Velázquez (Las Tunas, Cuba, 1993) is a contemporary artist who uses digital intelligence tools, currently living and working in Alicante, Spain. This young Cuban talent has established herself in the field of digital art, using contemporary media to explore themes related to nature, landscape, and the intimate relationship between the woman and her surroundings. Her works address with subtlety and visual strength topics such as beauty, love, sensuality, and feminine delicacy, always framed in enveloping, romantic, and refined atmospheres. With a vibrant and expressive aesthetics, Yamila Velázquez manages to fuse classical influences with a modern language, resulting in versatile, fresh, and deeply evocative works. The pictorial texture of her images, the masterful use of color, and the emotionally balanced composition position her work as a current artistic proposal of high aesthetic value. Shipping and presentation: The work will be carefully packaged by a professional and sent in a rigid cardboard tube, internally protected with bubble wrap to ensure its integrity during transport. The work represents the iconic scene of Saint Michael the Archangel defeating the dragon; it transcends conventional religious narrative by incorporating the aesthetics and philosophy of Kintsugi. This Japanese technique of repairing ceramic with gold, here applied to the sculpture’s surface, transforms visible cracks and fractures into elements of beauty and meaning, rather than hiding them. This artistic choice not only gives the piece a unique visual texture but also serves as a powerful metaphor for resilience and redemption. The golden scars that run across the figures of Saint Michael and the dragon symbolize the strength that comes from overcoming adversity, elevating the work from a simple historical depiction to a meditation on the capability of the spirit to find beauty in imperfection and triumph in struggle.
