Her works address with subtlety and visual strength themes such as beauty, love, sensuality and feminine delicacy, always framed in enveloping, romantic and refined atmospheres. With a vibrant and expressive aesthetic, Yamila Velázquez manages to fuse classical influences with a modern language, resulting in versatile, fresh and deeply evocative works. The painterly texture of her images, the masterful use of color and the emotionally balanced composition position her work as a current artistic proposition of high aesthetic value. This extraordinary sculpture represents the mythical Angel Icarus materialized on a delicate porcelain surface, whose fragility is masterfully sublimated through the philosophy and ancestral technique of Kintsugi. Each fracture that traverses its classical anatomy does not hide its vulnerability but celebrates it, joined by radiant veins of gold that symbolize resilience and the value of the scars of its famous fall. The piece engages in a perfect dialogue between East and West, adorning the torso of the character with intricate Delft-style blue ceramic patterns or Chinoiserie motifs, crowned by hyper-detailed golden wings that transform the original tragedy into an eternal testament of beauty, perseverance and artistic rebirth.
