This work of art fuses the portrait of a traditional geisha with the Japanese aesthetic of Kintsugi, transforming the idea of rupture into a metaphor for resilience. Instead of concealing cracks or imperfections, the artist uses threads of gold leaf to virtually repair and beautify the facial fissures of the figure, connecting them with the multicolored fragments that form her floral headdress and kimono. In this way, each scar becomes a line of strength and light, turning the geisha’s face not only into a subject of serene beauty but into a precious, reborn work of art where fragility and imperfection shine with invaluable value.
