Y MARIE - La ruelle

This 46 × 38 cm canvas depicts a picturesque alleyway at the heart of an ancient village, bordered by stone facades, traditional roofs and cobbled passages. The architecture, rich in detail, creates a scene imbued with calm and authenticity. The artist develops a composition structured by the vanishing lines of the street and the arrangement of the buildings, naturally guiding the gaze toward the heart of the village. The painting treatment is distinguished by a visible texture and reliefs particularly present on the roofs, where layered brushstrokes evoke the texture of old tiles. The cobbles and the walls also benefit from nuanced work, giving character to the different surfaces. The palette combines warm ochres, mineral greys and earthy browns, highlighted by the intensity of the blue sky. The contrast between sunlit areas and deep shadows reinforces the volumes and depth of the scene. Through its architectural balance, its handling of material and its timeless atmosphere, La Ruelle offers a sensitive interpretation of village heritage, ideal for display in an elegant interior or a figurative painting collection.
