Y marie - La Jeanne

Original oil on canvas depicting a majestic three-masted sailing ship navigating rough seas, under a dramatic sky illuminated by the last rays of the sun. At the heart of the composition, the ship unfurls its large sails in ochre, brown and gold tones, which contrast with the deep blues and turquoise hues of the sea. The treatment of light highlights the silhouette of the vessel and creates an expressive contrast between the luminous sails, the dark hull, and the cloud masses. The richness of the rigging details, the rigging lines and the masts testifies to the care taken in portraying the ship. The foaming waves, the reflections on the water, and seabirds introduce movement and enhance the depth of the scene. A second sailing ship appears in the background, bringing an additional perspective to this maritime composition. The name “JEANNE,” inscribed on the main ship’s hull, constitutes a distinctive element of the work and gives it its title. Through its contrasted palette, its structured composition, and its timeless subject, this painting belongs to the tradition of figurative marine art. It evokes the world of great sailing ships, the power of the natural elements, and the fascination exerted by long sea crossings. Executed in oil on canvas, La Jeanne is an original creation by Y Marie, offered directly by the artist. It may interest enthusiasts of maritime painting, traditional navigation, and figurative works with a strong decorative character.
