Born in 1978 in the heart of France, XTC shaped his artistic universe through his interest in Design, Pop Art, and more recently Street Art. This visual exploration turned into a passion that had to be realized. XTC defines himself as a self-taught visual artist, aligned with the Pop Art movement, through the détournement (reappropriation) of contemporary consumer goods. His creativity is expressed through bold staging of icons of popular consumer culture (such as McDonald’s, Malabar, Chupa), which he makes clash with the world of luxury (including Chanel, Hermès, Veuve Clicquot champagne or caviar) and Street Art, further blurring the already tenuous boundaries between these worlds. He expresses his art through sculpture, mixing painting with all kinds of resins, plastics, and sometimes minerals. He draws inspiration from, among others, Banksy, Keith Haring, Orlinski, Andy Warhol, Obey, advertising, and addictions in general. All potential defects or imperfections are an integral part of the work. HAND-FINISHED « Sculpture made for commercial purposes, hand-retouched by the artist XTC using acrylic paints. »
