The Campo del Cielo meteorite fell to Earth about 4,500 years ago in what is now Argentina, the largest known shower of metallic meteorites. It was used by the pre-Columbians to manufacture metal utensils and caused true astonishment among the Spanish conquistadors upon their arrival in America. In this lot we present a complete piece of Campo del Cielo metallic meteorite, of ideal size for a large collection, with a sculptural form, with some clear regmaglyphs and very beautiful, which has been cleaned and stabilized to prevent oxidation. A clean, healthy specimen with no bothersome rust, suitable for a large collection. Metallic meteorites like this come from the cores of large asteroids that shattered during the formation of the solar system and are roughly as old as the Earth itself. Since the Argentine government banned the export of these meteorites, their value has risen quickly. Moreover, it is a safe investment, as they are becoming increasingly difficult to purchase. An excellent opportunity to add this wonder of the universe to your collection.
