Vetta 17 Rubis – Swiss Mechanical Movement – Small Seconds – Chrome-Plated Case – Silver Dial - 1950-1959 A charming vintage Vetta wristwatch from the 1950s, featuring a classic silver-tone dial, elegant Arabic numerals and a traditional small-seconds subdial at 6 o’clock. With its generous 37 mm case and distinctly mid-century styling, this watch captures the understated elegance of post-war Swiss watchmaking. The aged dial has developed a pronounced and authentic vintage patina, giving the watch considerable character. Gold-tone Arabic numerals and hands contrast beautifully against the silver background, while the recessed small-seconds register creates the balanced layout characteristic of mechanical watches from this period. Powered by a Swiss mechanical hand-wound movement with 17 jewels, this Vetta offers the tactile experience and traditional construction appreciated by vintage watch collectors. Technical Details Brand: Vetta Case material: Chrome-plated case Case diameter: 37 mm Case back: Stainless steel back, marked “Fond Acier Inoxydable” Case reference: 15130 Glass: Acrylic crystal Dial: Silver-tone dial with Arabic numerals Movement: Swiss mechanical, manual winding Jewels: 17 Rubis Functions: Hours, minutes, small seconds Water resistance: Not tested for water resistance Strap: Generic black leather strap, approx. 20–21 cm Box: Generic box included Condition: Grade B Condition Report This Vetta is in Grade B condition, with signs of age and wear consistent with a vintage watch of this period. The silver-tone dial shows attractive age-related patina, including spotting, discoloration and surface ageing throughout. The Arabic numerals and minute track remain clearly visible. The chrome-plated case shows scratches, marks, pitting and areas of plating loss. These imperfections are clearly visible in the photographs and contribute to the authentic vintage appearance of the piece. The acrylic crystal shows signs of normal use. The stainless steel case back presents scratches and wear from previous use. The watch has not been tested for water resistance, therefore water resistance is not guaranteed. Please study all photos carefully, as they are part of the description and show the actual condition of the item. Story & Heritage Vetta is a historic name associated with Swiss watchmaking and has a particularly interesting connection with the Italian market. During the 20th century, Vetta became known for producing elegant mechanical wristwatches combining Swiss movements with designs strongly appreciated by European customers. This example embodies the aesthetics of the 1950s: a large, clean dial, stylized Arabic numerals, slender hands and the classic small-seconds display at 6 o’clock. Before the widespread adoption of automatic and quartz movements, manually wound watches such as this were part of the daily ritual of wearing a mechanical timepiece. Its naturally aged dial and worn case do not hide its history; rather, they give the watch the unmistakable personality sought in an authentic vintage piece. A characterful mid-century mechanical watch for collectors who appreciate original patina, traditional Swiss movements and classic 1950s design. Internal Reference Number - ITM-968
