All auctions / Furniture, Design & Mirrors / Writing table - Walnut - Center of the room - lock

Center desk/console in Louis XVI style, dating from the late 19th century. The piece is entirely made of solid walnut wood with a blond finish. The upper rectangular top features a perimeter frame with 45-degree mitered cuts, which refine its edges. Towards the bottom there is a wide central drawer with the original period lock, perfectly functional, complete with key. The structure rests on four spade legs (straight and tapering downward), decorated at the top with a turned wooden ring. The piece is structurally solid, stable and in excellent overall condition. It shows a beautiful patina and slight signs of wear on the wood consistent with its age and use, visible in the close-up photos. A versatile furnishing usable as a study desk, entryway console, or accent table in both classical and modern environments. Please take a careful look at the photo gallery, which is an integral part of the description, to avoid any misunderstandings. The legs are not removable, so pickup at the seller's location is preferred.
