Victorian Walnut Davenport with Veneer Inlays - Description Enchanting small walnut-veneered desk, with four drawers of identical size at the bottom. The drawers, on the right side, open via turned wooden knobs. Each of these drawers has mahogany sides and bottom. On the left side, the front is covered by four false drawers in the same spirit as their counterparts. This piece rests on four flat feet with casters, allowing easy movement to the room of your choice. This piece features a slanted fall-front at the top, whose perimeter is decorated with lemon stringing. At the corners of this fall-front, beautiful inlays in the Carlo X style form delicate and refined volutes. In the center, a splendid worn green leather is decorated by time; opening the central door reveals a storage space. The Davenport, once cherished in England by the Royal Navy, particularly for its multifunctional appearance, can today also be chosen as a small ceremonial piece of furniture.
