Beautiful antique travel writing desk from the Napoleon III era, dating from the second half of the 19th century, around 1860. This elegant writing desk features a remarkable cabinetmaking decoration combining different veneer woods, including a superb bird's-eye veneer with particularly decorative grain. The lid is adorned with delicate geometric and floral marquetry, enhanced by a small central mother-of-pearl inlay with magnificent iridescent reflections. The interior is lined in violet velvet. Overall in good condition, with only some wear and a few losses, notably on the velvet.
