The United States section includes individual stamps, commemorative issues, larger sheets and blocks, Olympic material, aviation and space-related issues and official commemorative stamp publications. Also included are several official Canada Post souvenir and annual collections, containing attractive stamps, souvenir sheets and other philatelic material. Many different themes are represented throughout the collection, including art, history, aviation, space exploration, Olympic Games, architecture, royalty, famous personalities, traditional costumes, ships, nature, animals, flowers and important historical events. Important information regarding the photographs Due to the exceptionally large quantity of stamps, albums, books, album pages, covers, sheets and other philatelic material in this collection, it was simply impossible to photograph every individual stamp and every single page. Very importantly, only a small selection of pages from the stamp albums and books has been photographed. The albums and books contain many more pages and stamps than those visible in the photographs. The photographed pages were selected to provide bidders with a representative impression of the contents, age, variety and overall character of the collection. Nevertheless, a considerable effort has been made to photograph as much of the overall collection as reasonably possible, including general overview photographs, the different albums and books, selected album pages, official collections, loose stamps, sheets, blocks, First Day Covers and other postal and philatelic material. The extensive photo series therefore forms an integral part of the description and is intended to provide bidders with the clearest and most transparent possible impression of the size, diversity, contents and condition of this collection. The photographs should not be interpreted as showing every stamp or every page included in the lot. Only a small portion of the pages inside the albums and books could be photographed, and there is considerably more material included in the collection than can be individually shown in the photographs. Condition and research potential The collection has not been professionally catalogued or systematically checked for varieties, watermarks, perforations, printing differences or overprint varieties. Considering the size and diversity of the collection, there remains a substantial amount of material for the new owner to sort, identify, catalogue and research. Condition varies, as can naturally be expected from a collection accumulated over many years. Both cancelled and apparently unused examples are present. Older albums, folders, covers and individual stamps may show signs of age, storage and handling. Please examine the photographs carefully to form your own impression of the condition and contents. Sale Everything shown and described is offered together as one single large lot. The collection will not be divided. This is an interesting opportunity for a worldwide stamp collector, specialist, reseller or philatelist looking for a substantial collection containing several thousand stamps and philatelic items, with numerous albums, official collections, sheets, blocks, First Day Covers, postal material and a large quantity of loose stamps. Please study the extensive photo series carefully. Please also keep in mind that only a small selection of the pages contained in the albums and books could be photographed; the complete collection contains considerably more material than is individually visible in the photographs.
