Winchester Model 1897 12 gauge slide-action shotgun, serial 616096, manufactured in 1914. Takedown model with 30" round barrel, 2-3/4" chamber and Full choke. Standard tubular magazine, exposed hammer and grooved walnut slide handle. Walnut buttsto ck inset with a duck silhouette. Metal surfaces exhibit substantial thinning and loss of original finish with areas of brown patina, oxidation, scratches and handling wear. Rear stock has a crack behind the receiver.
