Exceptional antique inkstand, soaked in history and charm. This unique piece has been masterfully carved from an authentic horse hoof, transformed into an elegant desk accessory with refined finishes in sterling silver. The inkwell, crafted in 1865 (the marks confirm its authenticity and the Victorian era), by the renowned London silversmiths William Thomas Wright & Frederick Davies, features a fine finish that reproduces the horse’s coat, while a horseshoe, also in silver, adorns its base. The elegant lid reveals a removable glass insert for ink and bears the inscription: "In memory of Playmate aged 20" (In memory of Playmate, aged 20), a touching tribute to the beloved horse. The underside bears signs of age, consistent with its years, attesting to its long history and adding authenticity and character to this antique object. A relic for lovers of Victorian History who also celebrate the special bond between man and horse. Dimensions: 13.5 cm x 10 cm x 6 cm. Weight: 475 g.
