The vintage photograph shows Lake Gran San Bernardo (French Lac au Grand St. Bernard) with the summit of Pain de Sucre (Pan di Zucchero) in the background, located at the border between Switzerland and Italy (Valle d'Aosta). Author: The shot bears the signature of the British photographer W. England (William England), known for his extensive photographic documentation of Alpine and Swiss landscapes in the 19th century.
