WILDE (Oscar). Salomé. Paris, Devambez, 1930. In-4, loose-leaf, white half-vellum slipcase. 20 original, visionary etchings, engraved by Lobel-Riche. Printed in an edition of 185 copies; this copy is specially printed on custom-cut pearlescent Japanese paper and contains the original drawings, proofs, the artist’s “ready-to-print” proofs, a gilded and inked copper plate, the etchings in their four states, the 5 additional etchings in their four states, and a suite of etchings with notes on parchment. It is designated as a unique copy and bears an autographed dedication from Lobel-Riche to Gérard de Berny. This unique copy has been disassembled and now consists only of the four suites on Japanese paper, the additional plates, and the suite on parchment. On the half-title page, it features an original drawing enhanced with red chalk.
