Wifredo Lam – Oiseau du possible & Double personnage – complete pair of the two original color lithographs from XXe Siècle Nr. 52, 1979 Offered is a cohesive pair of two original color lithographs by Wifredo Lam (1902–1982) from the year 1979. Both works were created specifically for the Wifredo Lam Special Edition of the renowned French art magazine XXe Siècle, Nouvelle Série, No. 52, July 1979. The edition contains exactly two original color lithographs by Wifredo Lam – both are offered here together as a complete pair: 1. Oiseau du possible 2. Double personnage The bibliographic description of the edition expressly confirms the two original color lithographs and lists them with these titles. The two sheets display characteristic elements of Lam’s later visual language: highly abstracted anthropomorphic and zoomorphic figures, mask-like forms and expressive line work, combined with strong black, red, white and ochre tones.
