Westraven Utrecht - Hans de Jong (1932-2011) - Relief

Wooden panel with ceramic decoration in relief of a cityscape, titled “Stedebouw”. This piece is depicted in the Monography on this artist (Hans de Jong 1932-2011, keramist) on page 35 and was on display in the Gemeentemuseum (now Kunstmuseum) in The Hague during the exhibition 'Hans de Jong' from November 4th 2017 until February 18th 2018 (see photo). This piece is one of the 'free works' Hans made at Westraven Utrecht. Dimensions app. 18 x 61 x 7 cm. In excellent condition, some light scratches on the wooden panel. Hans de Jong was born in 1932 in Leiden. He studied at the Instituut voor Kunstnijverheid between 1954 and 1958. De Jong started his first workshop in 1958 in Amsterdam. In the 1960’s Hans de Jong also worked as a designer for the Westraven factory.
