Description of the Lot Splendid and sturdy champagne ice bucket (or ice tub) made by the historic and prestigious German metallurgical manufactory Wellner, renowned across Europe since the second half of the nineteenth century for its luxury fittings destined to grand hotels, starred restaurants and historic transatlantic liners. The object stands out for a classic, highly elegant Neoclassical design, characterized by two beautiful fluted side handles in the shape of a stylized shell, complete with movable hanging rings. The flared bucket shape features a clean line, typical of early twentieth-century production. On the bottom the original factory mark "WELLNER" is clearly impressed. Item: Ice bucket / champagne glacette Manufacturer/Brand: Wellner (August Wellner Söhne) Country of origin: Germany Era/Period: Mid-20th century (approx. 1930s–1950s) Material: Metal plated with silver (Silver-plated / Alpacca) Marks/Stamps: Original stamp "WELLNER" on the bottom Condition: Excellent vintage condition, structurally sound, with exceptional natural oxidation patina (not polished) Dimensions: 20x20 Weight: 1 kg Unique Collectors’ Feature: the bucket has intentionally been kept in its original discovery state, preserving a wonderful and dramatic "rainbow patina" (tarnish). This exceptional natural oxidation, which fades from deep violet to blue petrol and golden reflections, testifies to the piece’s authenticity and decades of history. It is an extremely sought-after feature today among interior designers and mid-century modern collectors, as it gives the piece a dramatic, unique aesthetic character that cannot be artificially replicated. A perfect and highly atmospheric furniture piece to enrich a vintage bar cart, a buffet, or to be used on special occasions. AI-generated photos are used to improve the definition of the object and its placement in a furnishing setting. Professional shipping
