Rectangular porcelain plaque featuring a reproduction of a maritime painting depicting the clipper ship 'Golden West' under full sail. The scene illustrates the three-masted vessel with American flags and a name banner against a cloudy sky and churning sea. Housed in a wooden frame with a gilt-finished inner liner and a brass handle mounted to the right side. The reverse features a hanging chain and an oval Wedgwood Barlaston label with historical context for the ship, noting it was launched in 1852 from the yard of Paul Curtis. The label further identifies the image as a reproduction of an original painting by Smith with permission from the Peabody Museum in Salem, Massachusetts. A brass nameplate on the front is inscribed 'Clipper Ship GOLDEN WEST'. Dimensions: 1.5"L x 12.5"W x 10"H Weight: 3.05 LB Condition Request Condition Report Good
