A rare tea tin (stock tin / tea can) from the Art Deco period. The tin dates from around 1910–1920. It features typical Art Deco lithography. This stock tin is a stunning example of Art Deco design, manufactured by Wed. J. Bekkers & Zoon circa 1920. Designed for storing tea, this tin reflects the characteristic geometric shapes and clean lines of the Art Deco style, which was popular in both decorative and applied arts in this period. The word TEA can be read on the top edge, see e.g. photo 2. The tin has a hinged lid, something that is typical for tins from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. Dimensions: Height: 17.5 cm Length and width: 10.4 cm Weight: 218 g The tin is in good used condition. It shows light wear from use and age: one side has a dent and the bottom has some rust.
