Waterbury, Connecticut. $50 1902 Date Back. Fr. 667. Waterbury NB. Charter #780. PMG Very Fine 20. A tough denomination for Connecticut in terms of recorded survivors. The National Bank Note Census records approximately 39 $50s on the Nutmeg State with the overwhelming majority of that figure represented by the Series of 1929. The Series of 1902 by contrast accounts for only just eight pieces with most of those notes recorded on the First National Bank of Wallingford (Charter# 2599) which records six pieces overall. Now this example is nonetheless a new entrant but also makes for the first of its type and denomination to surface on the Waterbury National Bank (Charter# 780) which currently records a quartet of T1 $50s issued under the Series of 1929. PMG comments "Ink, Small Tear. Pinholes." Estimate: $800 - $1,200. Click here for certification details from PMG.

Estimate:$480
